Repurpose Toilet Paper Tubes into Handy Mini Storage Boxes

Are you familiar with the concept of “cuteness psychology”? Many people are attracted to small things, especially when they are tiny. And what could be better than tiny storage solutions for these tiny treasures? Toilet paper rolls are the perfect size to hold small items like cotton swabs, safety pins, and tiny toys.

While toilet paper rolls may not be your first choice for repurposing household items for storage, with a little creativity and some crafting supplies, you can transform them into functional containers. You can follow a DIY tutorial like the one shared by @pumpkinemily on TikTok to create your own lidded toilet paper tube box. All you need is an empty toilet paper roll, scissors, glue, decorative paper, Mod Podge, paint, and some cardboard for the base.

Clean your toilet paper tubes first

Before repurposing your toilet paper rolls, it’s important to clean them thoroughly to remove any bacteria that may be present. Wipe the rolls inside and out with rubbing alcohol or heat them in the oven to sanitize them. This step will ensure that your storage containers are safe for use.

Once your toilet paper tube is clean, you can start building your storage box. Cut out circles from cardboard to use as the base and lid of the box. Create a rectangular piece that will serve as the box’s walls. Attach the cardboard circles to the ends of the toilet paper roll to form the base and lid. Glue the cardboard walls inside the roll and cover the exterior with decorative paper. Finish off with a coat of Mod Podge and paint the lid for a personalized touch. Your DIY storage box is now ready to hold all your small items in style.
