DIY Pool Noodle Side Table: Add a Touch of Glam to Your Space

When you think of glam, pool noodles might not be the first thing that comes to mind. However, in the DIY world, we love to flip the script and create the unexpected, especially by incorporating pool noodles into our projects. Did you know you can even craft a cat scratching post using a pool noodle? This particular hack allows you to inject a touch of glam into your space by designing a chic side table. The best part is all the materials can be sourced from Dollar Tree.

To get started, you’ll need a few Colorful Foam Pool Noodles, which you will cover with faux QC Con-Tact Tan Marble Self-Adhesive Shelf Liners. For the table sides, you’ll require four Rectangular Silver Charger Plates. For the table’s top, you can opt for a more elegant choice like a Dahey Gold Hexagon Mirror from Amazon, or keep it budget-friendly with a Round Silver Plastic Serving Tray from Dollar Tree. The latter option ensures your table is unbreakable, ideal for homes with children or energetic pets. Whether you stick to Dollar Tree finds or splurge on a few extras, this project remains an affordable and enjoyable way to create a side table from scratch.

It’s important to note that this table is intended for decorative purposes, not heavy-duty use. You can place items like a candle or a vase on it, but the pool noodles and hot glue may not withstand frequent movement or heavy objects.

How to Create a Side Table with Pool Noodles

To execute this hack, cut four 15-inch legs from your two pool noodles and cover each with the contact paper. With your table legs ready, attach a rectangular charger plate to either side of each leg using hot glue. The aim is to form a “box” with the noodles as corners and the plates as sides. Next, place your tray or mirror on top to complete your new side table. To add accents to the legs, consider using Thovorrnl Flexible Mirror Sheets. There are numerous ways to personalize this hack. You can switch the table top to a different shape, and since it’s not glued down, you can later upgrade to a more sophisticated mirror. Consider shapes like a hexagon, square, or circle, as long as they don’t exceed the supporting structure’s size. Contact paper is a fantastic way to enhance a space, offering another means to customize this table further. Additionally, you can paint the charger trays for a unique touch. For instance, painting them brown and pairing with faux wood contact paper can create a rustic vibe. No matter your approach, you’ll have a distinctive, budget-friendly, and glamorous addition to your room.
