Decorating for Easter doesn’t have to be expensive, especially if you’re open to some DIY creativity. You can gather all necessary supplies at Dollar Tree for less than $10 to create your own version. You’ll need Jute Carrots (a six-pack costs just $1.25), Floral Garden Decorative Rope, a piece of burlap, and an Easter pail. When selecting a pail, opt for one with perforations if possible, as it will be easier to cut.
Begin by removing the handle from the basket, then use a carrot as a guide to mark its height around the bucket’s circumference. The goal is to cut off the top portion, leaving a bucket that can be completely hidden by the carrots. Using an X-Acto knife, carefully slice around the marked line, wearing protective gloves for safety. Alternatively, you can use scissors. Discard the top half and proceed to decorate the remaining portion of your bucket with the jute carrots and string.

Place a piece of burlap on a flat surface and hot glue it to the bottom of the bucket, pulling the material tightly up and over the edge. Alternatively, you could create a basket from scratch using jute cord. Hot glue burlap material to a bamboo ring to form a base. Wrap it with rope, twisting it upward and stacking the cord, gluing it to itself until you reach your desired height.
