Achieve a Luxurious Cabinet Finish on a Budget with DIY Techniques

Looking for an affordable way to instantly enhance your cabinet’s appearance? Consider this straightforward modification for your bathroom or kitchen cabinets using cabinet feet. Cabinet feet are decorative elements that mimic the legs found on sofas or armchairs. By adding them to each bottom corner, you can elevate your cabinets both literally and figuratively. You don’t need to spend a lot to achieve this upscale look, as this DIY project is accessible to everyone.

Faux cabinet feet offer a way to add visual interest without changing the cabinets themselves. To maintain your cabinet’s current height, you can add decorative feet using a few simple materials. Purchase a 1 by 4-foot wooden board from a hardware store and cut it into 5-inch sections, or use leftover scrap wood. If not all four corners are visible from the front, you can cut a semi-circle from just two 5-inch blocks. Then, cut two 2-inch strips and glue them to the inner corners and sides to reinforce the decorative piece. Finally, attach each finished foot to the bottom of your cabinet. This design trick modernizes old wood cabinets before resorting to paint.
